We were first contacted by Mrugesh who wanted to hire us for his wedding in India next year and a fall engagement shoot here in Canada before going to India. Unfortunately, we were already booked on their wedding dates and as much as we would have liked to we told him that we would not be able to provide photography and cinematography coverage for their wedding ceremonies in India. Nonetheless, they wanted to hire us to do their photo e-shoot and concept video.
Although it took several meetings- in person and over Skype and Facetime, we were able to work together to turn the urban, romantic, bollywood dream-like concept that Rashvi had in mind into a reality. We started out by deciding on the perfect song that would fit the theme, following which we finalized a storyline and then worked on selecting the locations, props as well as clothing that would complement the theme. Lucky for us that our couple was just as committed and passionate about the shoot as we were so we paid attention to every detail during the planning as well as the shooting part of the concept video. Mrugesh and Rashvi took the initiative and suggestions we provided them with to add the extra oomph to the shoot.
Whenever we decide on an outdoor e-shoot location, there is a certain level of flexibility that is required in terms on dates because outdoor e-shoot is weather dependent. The same was the case with this couple. Doing justice to their e-shoot required that we shoot on a day when there is no rain so that the fall colors really pop up in the photos and video and it is not too chilly so that the clients can wear the costume they had planned. Checking the weather forecast ahead of time as well as the day before, even the same day is a must.
Many of our couples opt to bring a friend along to help them with the change of costume, props and set up but Mrugesh and Rashvi brought a whole group of friends to help them. Their presence and their jokes made the shoot that much more memorable and enjoyable.
In the end, thanks to the crew for all the help with this amazing setup!!
